One of the easiest of the Magickal Correspondences you can work into a spell is color. Color helps raise the vibration of your spell towards your goal. Below are general color correspondences...if ever in doubt, use white or what feels right to you. Remember, Magick is a personal thing - and if something speaks differently to you, it’s perfecting fine to use it instead.
Be creative in utilzing color. The easiest way of course is to use a color candle, but other possibilities is a cord for cord magick, paper or ink you write a spell or invocation on, robes or clothing you wear, jewelry, altar cloth, etc.
Amber: Develop witchy skills.
Black: Foreboding, fortitude, consistency, need to “make it through darkness”. Represents the underworld. Protective color for magickal tools. Also use for banishing - such as banishing a bad habit, turn negativity, or make drastic life changes, ward negativity, remove hexes, spirit contact, night, truth, remove discord or confusion. Also related to Saturn, Saturday, the Universe, the hog and the number 8.
Blue: Wisdom, throughtfulness, celestrial regions, natural sciences, youthfulness. Sacred to Druids. Averts sickness and aids circulation. Related to the Throat Chakra and the sign of Capricorn. Sign of truth when seen in an Aura. The West. Peacefulness - a great color for meditation. Increases ability for profound reflection. Health. Also associated with Friday, the planet Venus and the number 6. Sky blue also stands for patience & tranquility, spring, wind, psychic awareness, quests, safe journey, intuition, opportunity, wards against depression, bells or chimes. Midnight blue for dreams, aspiration, midnight, season of winter, sounds of celestrial harmony, the Goddess, water elemental, truth, change, impulse. Indigo is the higher mind, idealism, intelltectual pursuits, keen powers of concentration and discernment. An effective communicator and creator, intuitive person with a logical mind, logic, self-importance, meditation, karma workings, wards against slander, negate another’s Magick.
Brown: Special favors, influences friendships, Earth Elemental, endurance, animals (especially health of animals), steadiness, houses, homes, physical objects (and the physical world in general), uncertanties.
Copper: Professional growth, business fertility and success, career maneuvers, passion, money goals.
Gold: The sun & solar energy, Leo, adolesence, joy, fruitfulness, nobility, masculine energy, strength, leadership, vitality. Visualize the sun’s energy absorbing into you. Power, success, achievement, mental growth, skill sought, healing energy, intuition, divination, fortune.
Gray: Communication with fairy realms (non-nature type fairy magick), travel to the otherworld, vision questions, veiling, cancellation, hesitation, neutrality.
Green: Hope, joy, delight, growth, change, the planet Mercury, Wednesday, foxes, the number 5, the Heart Chakra, and Cancer. Lord & Lady of the Greenwood, Earth Elemental, herb & fairty magick (nature type), luck, fertility, healing, balance,employment, courage, agriculture, changing directions and attitudes. Forest green stands for fertility, body, courage, classical music, wilderness sounds. Ivy green stands for the emotional aspects of humanity, coping with grey, cliffside ponderings, hushed music or silence. Pale green is a color of healing. Yellow Green negates discord, sickness, anger and jealousy.
Orange: Leo, second (sexual) Chakra and sexual energy, warmth, friendship, spirit, will, principles, theory, alterness, passionate music, Autumn, natural sounds at dusk or just after a strom. Pink: Affection, caring, romance, nurturing, planetary good will, love, honor, morality, friendships.
Purple (violet): Royalty, judgement, industry, religious thought, the planet Jupiter, Thursday, the bull, the number 3, old age, Crown Chakra, Virgo, Sagittarius and Gemini, the spirit, etheric realms, higher esoteric learning, ancient wisdom, mysteries, magical songs, spiritual music pieces.
